I received a text message advising I've been issued with a parking fine

We have been contacted by a number of drivers who've received text messages advising they have been issued with a parking fine. If you have also received a text advising this, please be aware that this is very likely to be fraudulent. 

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is warning that scammers are sending text messages about fake DVSA parking penalty charges to drivers. We'd therefore advise to report this to the National Cyber Security Centre before deleting the text and blocking the number you received it from.

If a valid fine is issued, this will likely be via letter in the post or found on the vehicle when returning to it.
