HMRC Reporting: Important Update for Space Owners

Starting 31st January, we will be reporting all earnings to HMRC in compliance with new laws applicable to online marketplaces, like JustPark.

This does not change your right to earn up to £1000 tax-free each year through our platform.

What’s the Purpose of HMRC Reporting?

The primary aim of HMRC reporting is to ensure transparency about business sellers on online marketplaces. While most JustPark space owners aren’t businesses, you’ll still need to submit your details via our online form to meet the legal requirements.

Who Needs to Submit a Form?

If you listed your space with JustPark from January 1st, 2024, and you’ve received more than one booking, you’ll be required to submit your details.

What Information Do I Need to Provide?

To comply with HMRC reporting requirements, you’ll need to provide the following information:

  • Full Name
  • Country of Residence
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Tax Identification Number (For UK residents, this is your National Insurance Number)

You'll receive an email from us with instructions on how to submit this information.

What If I’m a Business?

We’re currently finalising the process for business owners. Thank you for your patience while we work through the details!

I’ve Been Sent an Email Asking to Upload Proof of Identity— Is This a Scam?

No, this isn’t a scam. Our verification partner, Mitek, will be sending emails to Space Owners to guide them through the verification process. You can find out more about Mitek here.

What if I Don't Provide My Details?

Your ability to withdraw your earnings may be restricted until you verify your details.
