Im a space owner - What happens if the driver overstays?

⛔ A driver has overstayed — what should I do?

We make it clear to our drivers that they shouldn’t stay any longer than they’ve booked. This happens very rarely and is usually due to unforeseen circumstances.

If a driver does overstay, don’t worry — they’ll need to pay for any additional time they use at your space, and in some circumstances, other charges may apply. See our Overstay Policy for full details.


🤝 What JustPark will do

  • Contact the driver urgently to move or extend their booking.
  • Arrange the correct extra time through JustPark at the standard rates shown at booking.
  • If a confirmed next booking is at risk, we’ll prioritise clearing the space and keep you updated.
  • Where disruption is caused and the driver doesn’t cooperate, an admin fee may apply in line with our terms.

🧭 Steps for Space Owners

  1. Try to contact the driver by phone or message.
    We’ll need to see proof of this (e.g., call log or screenshot).
  2. Make a note of how long they have overstayed (from their booking end time to the time you notify us).
  3. Take photo evidence showing the car still in your space.
  4. Contact us with these details so we can take action quickly.

🧾 Evidence we need

  • 📸 Photos of the vehicle in your space (number plate visible; timestamped if possible).
  • Times: the driver’s booking end time, and when you observed/photographed the overstay.
  • 📞 Proof of contact attempts (screenshot of calls/messages to the driver).
  • 📅 Impacted bookings (if applicable): the next booking start time and booking ID.

ℹ️ Helpful to know

  • If the day’s daily or capped rate has already been reached, we won’t add extra same-day charges — we’ll still contact the driver to move promptly.
  • For longer overstays, we’ll charge for additional time and keep you updated as we work to resolve.
  • If a monthly booking ends and the vehicle remains, we’ll contact the driver to renew or make a new booking. If there’s no response, we’ll advise you on next steps consistent with our terms and local regulations.
  • Please don’t accept cash directly from drivers — this will breach our Terms and Conditions, and for everyone’s protection, all payments should go through JustPark.
  • If there’s a safety issue or a public road is blocked, please contact your local authority or the police.
