MOT - Why do you store my MOT data and send reminders?

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Why we check and show your MOT due date

Some of our contracts (especially with Local Authorities) require us to confirm that vehicles presented for parking have a valid MOT. To support this, we look up and store the publicly available MOT due date for vehicles you add to your account.

๐Ÿ”Ž What we do

  • When you add a vehicle to your JustPark account, we retrieve its MOT due date from public records.
  • We store this date on your account and refresh it annually.

๐Ÿ’ก Why youโ€™ll see MOT reminders

Research we ran in Summer 2020 showed drivers strongly prefer timely visibility of their MOT due date โ€” it removes the worry of remembering when the MOT is due.

Is your MOT date wrong? It happens occasionally. Please see how to report and fix it here: contact us (include your registration and correct due date).

๐Ÿ” About your data

  • MOT status and due dates are public information in the UK.
  • We use this information to meet contract requirements and to help you stay compliant.

๐Ÿ“ Summary

  • We check and store your public MOT due date to meet contract requirements and help you stay on top of renewals.
  • The date is refreshed annually and may be surfaced as a helpful reminder.
  • If something looks incorrect, contact us with your registration and the correct MOT due date.
